The Japanese love hats. You see them everywhere- at the beach, in nightclubs, on the train, while shopping, and even at the hair salon. They add just a dash of fashion to any outfit, and let the wearer express their personal panache.
A hat is a practical souvenir from Japan, and Kamakura Boshiya (Hat Shop) has an amazing selection. Trying on hats is also great retail therapy- you can enjoy comparing styles with a friend and have a lot of fun in the process. At Kamakura Boshiya, there are designs for everyone at a variety of prices. They also have a colorful kid’s section!
While the more expensive hats are inside the shop, the outdoor shopping area feels more like a fashionable flea market, with everyone looking for the perfect bargain. There is usually a sale area, and twice a year (December and September) the shop offers big discounts to make room for new merchandise.
