Kamakura City Kawakita Film Museum will hold a special showing of Tokyo Monogatari (Tokyo Story) with English subtitles on Sunday, December 13 at the museum from 2:00 pm.
Directed by Yasujiro Ozu, the film is considered a classic from the golden age of Japanese cinema, and features Setsuko Hara, legendary Japanese actress and long-time Kamakura resident who recently passed away. The story revolves around the conflicts of a family trying to balance modern and traditional ideologies in their everyday lives. A masterpiece from one of Japan’s most extraordinary directors.
